That’s what some of my cardiology colleagues were quoted as saying about statins for cholesterol lowering, but a recent investigatory report by the AP showed that we not only have statins like Lipitor in our drinking water, but also antidepressants like Prozac, mood stabilizing drugs, antibiotics, and much much more. In fact, they had trouble finding any US city that didn’t have multiple prescription drugs in the drinking water.

Why do doctors give out antibiotics like oxygen? Ok that was a bit harsh, however being prescribed antibiotics is becoming easier and more worrying.
Is it something to do with the money?
For those who don’t know what antibiotics are:

Layman’s terminology: they kill all the bacteria in your system, be it bad or even good, yes they kill even the good bacteria.
