Achieving Your Goals - Words Make A Difference

Kids have the most amazing insight if you stop and listen to them. Our daughter has an adult relative who lives far away who said to her “I wish I could see you more often”. Do you know what she said later? I don’t think he means it, or he would see me more often. Good observation.

Let’s look at this more closely. When the relative above says “I wish”, this person is indicating that 1) they have not made a decision to make it happen and 2) the ability to make visits more often is not within his/her power. To that, I say poppycock!

The importance of the word named “motivation” conveys lot more than it seems to have. Anything and everything that have to be done won’t be materialized unless and until it is supplemented by the crucial entity named “motivation”. The colors of the rainbow we know to be ROYGBIV: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo violet. The colors are tied to our power centers. Red is the color of the first power center, it is dense and full color. Red can tie us to our roots and ground us to our day. It can be used as a helpful reminder to stake our ground. It also is full of fun and passion it can help us feel connected to others.

This exercise is useful when you are experiencing mind chatter that is negative—obsessive thoughts, anxiety, depression, etc. It can also be used to train the mind to hold a quieter state. If practiced regularly, the body sensation (relaxing the tongue) will provide a quick anchor to still the mind in time of need.
